Mountain Youth Academy is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the  evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent patients.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Prepares and cooks meals for patients/employees of the facility by performing the following duties. The employee is HWC and CPR certified and can assist in the supervision of patients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (include, but are not limited to, the following)

• Demonstrates knowledge of proper food preparation including receiving, storing, handling, and following recipes.
• Prepares and serves food in quantities according to menu, number of people to be served, and portion control.
• Demonstrates knowledge and assures maintenance of modified diets as instructed.
• Demonstrates proper use and storage of equipment and maintains a clean environment, including utensils, appliances, floors, equipment, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIAL SKILLS:

• Provides positive, professional role modeling and always maintains appropriate boundaries with clients.
• Provides supervision to patients while in the dietary department.
• Maintains a safe working environment by following all safety procedures, including the use of Standard Precautions, proper storage, and use of chemicals, and properly securing the Food Service area. Also demonstrates knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets.
