Senior Estimator —a strategic thinker and skilled professional who can craft accurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals for commercial and industrial projects. Your Role as a Senior Estimator As a Senior Estimator, you’ll drive project success from the start by ensuring bids are precise, cost-effective, and aligned with client goals. Here’s what you’ll do:
- Analyze and Produce Estimates: Create detailed electrical estimates by evaluating project proposals, requirements, and specifications.
- Scope Mastery: Understand the complete scope of work, even when details are limited, through pre-bid meetings, project site visits, and bid document reviews.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to gather competitive quotes, evaluate bids, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Value Engineering: Provide creative solutions and cost-saving measures tailored to client needs.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with estimators, field operations, and management to align on project scope, pricing, and strategy.
- Proposal Preparation: Craft professional proposal letters that include scope, exclusions, clarifications, and meet deadlines.
- Client Engagement: Maintain consistent communication with clients, offering follow-up and gathering feedback to refine future bids.
What You Bring We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in estimating. Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience: 4+ years of estimating commercial and/or industrial projects valued at $3 million and above. (Examples appreciated!)
- Field Knowledge: Thorough understanding of electrical and low-voltage systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ConEst, IntelliBid, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Adaptability: A knack for thriving under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Code Expertise: Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (N.E.C) and local codes.
