Job title: Performance Test Lead

Location: Chicago, IL.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Performance Test Lead to oversee and manage performance testing efforts across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and reporting performance tests to ensure system scalability, stability, and responsiveness. This role requires hands-on expertise with performance testing tools and a strong understanding of system architecture and bottleneck analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end performance testing lifecycle including planning, scripting, execution, and reporting.
• Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and business teams to gather performance requirements and define testing strategy.
• Design performance test plans, scenarios, and scripts using tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Neoload , or similar.
• Execute load, stress, spike, endurance, and scalability tests to evaluate system performance under varying workloads.
• Monitor performance metrics using APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic).
• Analyze test results, identify performance bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Prepare and present performance test reports to stakeholders with clear insights and improvement suggestions.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate with offshore/onsite teams as needed.
  

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in performance testing with at least 2+ years in a lead role.
• Strong proficiency in one or more performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, Neoload ).
• Experience with performance monitoring tools and log analysis.
• Good knowledge of system architecture, databases, networks, and cloud-based environments.
• Strong scripting knowledge in JavaScript, Python, or Shell for test automation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of performance testing.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
