Description URM Stores, Inc. is on the lookout for a dedicated and adaptable
Graphic Designer ready to dive into a variety of projects! If you have a solid grasp of design principles, love learning new things, and can pivot on a dime, we want to hear from you.
We’re looking for someone who is confident using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat. You'll play a key role in bringing our member-owners’ visions to life through everything from grocery ads to print materials and event branding.
Education - Minimum AA Degree in Graphic Design, or related field of study is required.
Desired Skills & Experience Ideal applicants have a growing knowledge of how to apply principles, techniques, and procedures. Proficiency in the following is desired:
- Experience with page layout and preparing files for press.
- Experience with four-color process printing (CMYK).
- Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
- Mac knowledge a plus.
- Have a good balance of attention to detail, proofreading, and composure under pressure.
- This position requires 100% on-site presence.
A Typical Day Will Consist Of - Assisting with layout and design of grocery ad pages.
- Inputting text and photos into InDesign templates.
- Exporting PDFs for press and proofing.
- Use of spell check to ensure proper spelling of ad information.
- Must pay extreme attention to detail and have high level proofreading skills on own work as well as work of team members.
- Staying organized, understanding ad calendars and deadlines.
- Cross-training with other team members.
- Creating miscellaneous bag stuffers, signage, and print collateral.
- Downloading, resizing, clipping, and manipulating photos in Photoshop.
- Incorporating themes and seasonal artwork as needed.
- Creating low resolution PDFs for online viewing.
- Posting PDFs to web sites.
