The OpportunityWe're seeking a Director, Retirement Income to lead a team of specialists who assist members with annuities and other retirement income products. In this role, you'll provide strategic leadership, improve operational workflows, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help optimize member engagement and create meaningful financial solutions.

This position offers a flexible work environment, requiring four days per week in the office. Locations include San Antonio, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Tampa, FL; Colorado Springs, CO; or Plano, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

What You'll Do

Lead and develop a team of Retirement Managers, Sales/Solutions Consultants, and Process Owners to enhance leadership skills and coaching effectiveness.

Oversee operational plans for the Retirement Income department, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.

Conduct research and analysis on strategic initiatives to improve member engagement and experience.

Streamline workflows and integrate resources to enhance retirement income services.

Drive continuous improvement plans to increase productivity and service quality.

Establish and maintain process and performance standards for retirement income services.

Identify and remove operational barriers while championing innovation and change.

Ensure proper coordination and implementation of company programs, projects, and initiatives.

Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Act as a securities principal, assisting with regulatory inquiries and audits in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.

Manage risk by implementing measures to monitor and control business activities in line with industry standards.

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree OR four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree (total of 12 years without a degree).

Ability to obtain Life/Health license and any required carrier appointments within 90 days of starting the role.

Active FINRA Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65), 24, and 51 (or 53) OR ability to obtain within 90 days.

8+ years of experience in financial services operations, including process improvement and business analysis.

4+ years of leadership experience managing teams in a financial services setting.

Strong knowledge of financial products and services related to life insurance, health insurance, and retirement income.

What Sets You Apart

Experience in the military or as a military spouse/domestic partner.

Current/Active FINRA Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65), 24, and 51 (or 53).

Active Life and Health (Group 1) license.

MBA or Master's degree in a financial or business-related field.

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERâ„¢ (CFP®) designation.

10+ years of experience in retirement planning and/or annuities.

5+ years of experience leading investment advisors in a direct distribution channel.

3+ years of direct leadership experience managing other managers (leader of leaders).

Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) designation.

Experience managing investment advisors in a call center environment.

Salary Range: $114,080 - $218,030 (varies by location and experience).
